WAC101 Writing Across Curriculum (Sec. # 21420)

Emphasis on the elements of sentence and paragraph structure, as well as the four stages of the writing process for personal and expository communication. Class activities will focus on Native American history, as well as issues and concerns for Native peoples today. Prepare and write multi-paragraph essays. Assigned readings, participation in extensive workshops, and group work. Prerequisite: None.

ENG101 First-Year Composition (Sec. # 21070)

Emphasis on rhetoric, composition, and the writing process. Establish college-level writing strategies. Class activities will focus on Native American history, as well as issues and concerns for Native peoples today. CRW180 Intro to Writing Non-Fiction (Sec. # 21418)

Practice in writing creative nonfiction, including autobiography and biography, the essay, reviews, and humor using a process of invention and discovery, writing, analysis, evaluation, and revision. Combines lecture, discussion, and workshop, leading to the production of marketable quality creative nonfiction. Prerequisites: None. CRW150 recommended but not required.

ENG217 Personal and Exploratory Writing (Sec. # 21419)

Using writing to explore one's self and the world one lives in; emphasis on journal writing as a source and inspiration for public writing. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in ENG101, or ENG107, or equivalent.
