Arizona Tax Credit

Keep your tax dollars local with Arizona’s dollar-for-dollar public school tax credit, which goes directly to the school and eligible program you choose. Any amount you can give will help students at the Accelerated Learning Academy!

What You Need to Know

  • The Accelerated Learning Academy is the only school within the Salt River Schools Education Division (also known at the SRPMIC Community Schools) eligible for school tax credits.
  • School tax credit donations are dollar-for-dollar, so contributions are direct tax reductions on your state tax return.
  • School tax credit maximum amounts are $200 for single filers, $400 for married couples.
  • Any amount can be contributed (even if you don't pay state tax), but $200 and $400 are the maximum amounts that are deductible.
  • You can designate funds to your favorite activity or request the funds be "undesignated" and ALA administrators will ensure your contribution goes to the program needing the most attention.
  • You do not have to live within the ALA (or Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community) boundaries to contribute.

Reasons to Contribute

  • It benefits taxpayers and schoolchildren alike. A.R.S. 43-1089.01 allows a tax credit of $200 for individuals and $400 for married couples filing jointly, for fees or contributions paid to a public school in support of extracurricular activities.
  • It costs you nothing. It gives you a say in how your tax dollars are spent and reduces your tax bill by whatever amount you contribute. For example, if you contribute $400 to an eligible school activity, you will reduce your Arizona state tax bill by $400. If you expect a refund, it will be $400 higher. If you don’t pay state income tax, you can’t reduce your liability below $0.
  • So many programs in need of support. Tax credit contributions make possible a wide range of learning opportunities that students would not otherwise have. And you don’t have to have a child in the school district to benefit from this tax credit.
  • Donations must be received by April 15. Click here to learn more about the Arizona Public School Tax Credit.
