Career Training

The ALA offers students the opportunity to participate in career training, while finishing their high school requirements. The ALA will offer students the opportunity to voluntarily enroll in one of several career training course each year.

These training courses are designed to provide high quality training from professionals in the field, while also providing community college credits and/or a certification upon completion of the designated program. The requirements for entry into and maintaining enrollment in each career training program is different, so this must be considered by the student prior to beginning the career training program.

Information about each career training option will be discussed with students upon their enrollment and class scheduling. The training programs will only be open for enrollment into, at the beginning of each academic school year.

Career Training Programs:

The following four training programs available (classes may change without notice; please call the ALA for updated information):

  • Culinary Arts - Certificate of Completion
  • Child Development Associates (CDA) - Rio Salado Community College credits
  • Computer Repair/A+ Certification - Mesa Community College credits
  • Certified Nursing Assistant - Scottsdale Community College credits

Enrollment into the job training programs requires an interview for the career track, which will be conducted by the ALA Job & Career Coach.

It should be noted that upon successful completion of certain career tracks, students may be eligible for full-time employment within the Community.
